I write because I love words and please forgive me but my favourite word in the whole world is 'nice'.  I know, it's very non-descript, but I think it's very under-rated and neglected!  And I'm not ashamed to admit that I love it.  My other favourite word is 'stuff'.  I'm not ashamed of that either.

I write poetry and other bits and bobs.  I have performed poetry, taught it, had some stuff published in small press magazines and started writing it when I'd had my heart broken.  I rarely write rhyme.  That's not to say I can't write it, but I found my own voice and style as I waded through the world and rules of poetry.  I believe that once you've learned the rules, you can then start to bend them and even break them. 

I'm not generally a rule breaker, just more of a free spirit and if rules get in the way of having a good life, then I'll either side step them, walk around them or ignore them.
